USB-IDE will likely not work at all I don't know of any such things (certainly don't have a list of this model/. Most tended to advocate removing all other drives just to spare you accidentally locking your main hard drive. If you have another port then go that, and if not consider the USB thing (you can get a floppy disc to jump boot if the old machine does not support USB booting). Most things are selected on the cable, though serving two masters could be a thing. Master/slave ports? Odd way for such things to work. DOS booting (possibly even from USB) and CHIMP/xboxhdm I think it was tended to be the suggested method, though some do seem to be shifting to xplorer360 (where it was more of an afterthought).
